Introduction

FileSamosa is a privacy-first, serverless peer-to-peer file sharing web application. Files stream directly from sender to receiver through an encrypted WebRTC data channel without ever touching a middleman server.

Architectural Highlights

  • Direct WebRTC Data Channels: Establishes direct peer connections between sender and receiver browsers with zero intermediary file storage.
  • No File Size Restrictions: Stream gigabytes of videos, datasets, and archives without upload size limits or cloud bandwidth charges.
  • End-to-End Encryption: Built-in DTLS and SCTP protocol encryption ensuring that only the sender and receiver can access the file data.
  • Room Code & QR Code Pairing: Ephemeral room generation for quick scanning and transfer setup between laptops and smartphones.
